Maricela, a 49-year-old woman, originally from Mexico, recently received U.S. naturalized citizenship after over a decade as a green card holder, with comprehensive legal assistance from Justice for all Immigrants (JFAI).
Maricela learned about JFAI at a community event hosted by Mission Milby Community Development Corporation. Frustrated by previous unresponsive attorneys, she found support from JFAI, which helped her navigate the complex citizenship process.
"I was extremely nervous, but once my attorney arrived, I felt much more at ease and confident," she reflects.
JFAI not only assisted Maricela with the intricate paperwork required for citizenship but also provided legal representation during her interview. "I was extremely nervous, but once my attorney arrived, I felt much more at ease and confident," she reflects. Achieving citizenship has significantly transformed Maricela's life as a store’s assistant manager and a mother of three U.S. citizen children. She enthusiastically endorses JFAI, recognizing its crucial support and educational outreach within the Latino community.
Maricela took her Oath of Allegiance during a ceremony on September 4th, certifying her U.S. naturalization and underscoring JFAI's legal support.
