Yanuaris' Path to Freedom

Yanuaris and her family faced unimaginable challenges when they left their home in Cuba to start a safer life in the United States.  Yanuaris had experienced political persecution in her native country, leaving her without a job or legal work documents. However, upon arriving in Houston, Yanuaris and her family found themselves without resources or legal assistance to help them navigate their political asylum case. She then reached out to Justice for all Immigrants (JFAI) for help, and it proved to be a lifeline for her and her family.

I am very grateful to JFAI, and I want other immigrants like me to be able to get help from places like this," said Yanuaris.

JFAI's legal support helped Yanuaris and her family become permanent residents in the United States, a remarkable achievement given their circumstances. JFAI went above and beyond to provide them with legal advice and a pathway to stability, which positively transformed their lives. "I am very grateful to JFAI, and I want other immigrants like me to be able to get help from places like this," said Yanuaris.

Inspired by JFAI's work, Yanuaris acknowledges the broader impact of JFAI's quality legal services in her community and recommends the organization to others in similar situations.
